Phil and I spent many hours in his basement electronics atelier labouring over various technical issues. Dozens of Saturday morning breakfasts at The Homeway on Mt. Pleasant. He was the consummate Star Trekie and knew those wonderful shows by heart, every show ever broadcast safely in his archives. He understood more about Quantum theory than anyone I ever met. He had a remarkable understanding of space concepts. Janet, it is wonderful to think of the Petit Prince who also had a remarkable journey in his life. I shall think of Phil every time I see a twinkling star.

Dear Louise, Chris, Janet and extended Simone and Fothergill families, I am so deeply sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I have fond memories of Phil from time spent at the Simone household in high school; Phil and Janet were warm and generous hosts and always treated Louise's friends like family.
