I am the oldest grandchild of Ron and Muriel. I have many fond memories of my grandfather going from my childhood to my adult years. He was always joking around and telling funny stories. I loved how he could grab the attention of a room as he tells a joke or a story and we all would be drawn in. One of my favourite memories of grandad is a recent one, I got married last year and the day before my wedding he surprised me with his wedding ring as a gift (the same ring my grandmother put on his finger in 1957). I decided to make this my wedding ring and my wife put it on my finger 67 years later. I will always cherish that moment and the ring he gave to me.

I had the pleasure of knowing G-Dad from around his 90th birthday onwards.
In the few short, yet rich years I knew him, he inspired me in countless ways. As I married his granddaughter, he set a silent example on how to be a lifelong partner. As her and I started to build a new life, he spoke of a past that honoured the hard work yet mostly celebrated the joys. As I complained at my minor misfortunes, he accepted losing his eyesight and the challenges of aging with a steadfastness and joyful grace that spoke deeply to his character.
Thanks to Ron, I strive to complain less. Thanks to Ron, I know to tell my wife I love her every night before bed. Thanks to Ron, I know that a well-told joke or well-timed story can be the perfect ingredient to fill a room with joy!
In Ron, I saw how a gentle man full of joy, love and care, can deeply touch so many people.
I’ll carry these lessons with me, and am humbled to have been able to learn through you, Ron.
Until we meet again, G-Dad.
Love you.

My earliest memory of cousin Ron was swapping surnames. I was a bridesmaid when he married Muriel and with other family members waved them off on their journey to their new life in Canada. We have had several fun filled holidays with them in Toronto. There would always be a full itinerary waiting for us, no resting on a holiday with Ron. Ron was a special man able to be at ease with everyone and a great story teller. He will be sadly missed.xxxx

Elva’s fond memories of Ron.
I took up residence at Evergreen Retirement Community in June 2011 and this was when I had the pleasure of meeting Ron and Muriel. A group of us get together each morning for coffee. Ron was always the life and soul of the group with his sense of humour, telling jokes, singing songs, and telling about some of his memories. When we had a “fun questions on general knowledge session” Ron was always the one with the answers. Everyone was sorry to see Ron and Muriel leave Evergreen to move to Cobourg. Coffee was a little quieter after that! I kept in touch with them and enjoyed talking to Muriel on the phone with Ron on the speaker phone so he could join in the conversation. Everybody was sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our thoughts and best wishes go to Muriel.

The best Grandad I could've ever asked for. Some of my most cherished memories from childhood involved being silly with Grandad. Him and my Nana used to come watch me compete at horse shows, and I will always remember how happy I was when I would see them watching from the stands. More recently, when I got married, I wore the same dress my Nana wore when she married him 68 years ago. I was able to share a dance with him that evening, which was a special moment I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Grandad's positive outlook on life was an inspiration to so many.

I am the youngest grandchild of Ron (and Muriel). Grandad (or “G-Dad” as I nicknamed him) was truly one of a kind. His unique character allowed him to get along with anyone and everyone. He was the family jokester, while also being the logical and intelligent one. His stories about living in England and his life once coming to Canada are stories I will remember forever. A funny memory of Gdad I have is him chasing me and my sister Emily around the house trying to kiss me while wearing a face-full of shaving cream, it was so much fun!!!! I love you and miss you so much Gdad, I’m happy to have you watching over us all now ❤️ Rest easy and see you again someday!

It has taken me a long time to get my thoughts together regarding my eulogy for the love of my life Ron (Neal)
Ron and I met when I was 17 and he was 24. Right away I knew he was very special and fell “head over heels” in love with him.
We hiked over the moors with backpacks, dropped in pubs for refeshing drinks, barm cakes or ovenbottoms as they were often called with cheese and pickled onions.
My sweetheart introduced me to Baby Chams, a sparkling cider made of pears, 6% alcohol. Started me off with low alcohol content, that soon altered though.
We married in 1957 (took him long enough to “pop the question”).
We then emigrated to Canada and started our family, Cathy and Christine, two daughters who were his pride and joy.
My love continued to grow for this wonderful fun loving man. He was game for anything, from white water river rafting, hot air ballooning, cross country skiing, square dancing and Tai Chi.
Told stories of his childhood to his girls, and anyone else listening, sometimes embellishng the story a bit.
The love of my life was 96 when he transitioned to the spiritual world.
Ron and I had 67 wonderful years together.
His charm, wit and storytelling will live on in ur lives.
You are beside me every day Ron.
Until we meet again. Agapi Mou sweetheart

I knew Ron for over 40 years. He was my father-in-law for most of that time. I will always remember his quick wit, zest for life, and positive outlook. We shared many coffees with "how's your father" (whisky) where he would regale me with stories and anecdotes from his wide variety of life experiences. I will miss these times. Thank you Ron for being a big part of my life! I have attached a photo of Ron and Muriel that I like.

Whether it was in Canada or England when I saw Ronnie he always made you feel very welcome.
The many stories he told about his life were fascinating to listen to.
A true gentleman who will be sadly missed by family and friends alike.

Mr. Neal was a great man, in every way.
He will be deeply missed. I always gravitated to him at gatherings. He was a joy to be around, laughing, telling stories, and took time to really listen. With loss of vision he still knew who I was when I'd say hello, then I'd hear a big "hello Shelley ".
He was someone to aspire to, and will be greatly missed.
Untill we meet again Mr. Neal.
Keep that light shining for us all,
Love Shelley xo

I am heartbroken to see you go, but I know that you are happy and content. I know that you will always be with us, in our hearts, and in spirit. You were such an amazing dad. I will miss your humour (which was one of a kind) and I will miss your laugh and stories that you always were telling. I am so proud to have been your daughter. Even though your body was weak and tired, your soul and spirit was strong.
‘Till we meet again, dad. Rest well and be in peace. We will carry you with us – always.
