Obituary of Ivetta Eisenbichler

Johanna “Ivetta” Eisenbichler, née Martinolich, passed away peacefully in Toronto on 15 March

2025. She was born on 6 March 1926 in Lussinpiccolo, Italy (today, Mali Lošinj, Croatia), the

daughter of Anna “Anny” Rade and Niccolò Martinolich. Beloved wife of the late Erich

Eisenbichler, with whom she shared 66 years of blissful married life, devoted mother of Konrad,

the late Wilhelm “Willy” (Sheree), and Erika (Kevin), caring grandmother of Alexandra (Allan),

Cameron, and Patrick, loving great-grandmother of Athena and Karlina, she was adored by her

entire family, including her ex-daughter-in-law Carmen (Peter).

Ivetta is predeceased by her brother William “Willy” Martinolich and sister Anna “Nelly” Martinolich.

Ivetta had many friends in Hamilton (where she lived for 65 years), Toronto (where she

lived for 20 years), Italy, Croatia, the USA, and South Africa. She was an active member of the

Club Giuliano Dalmato di Toronto, the Associazione Giuliano-Dalmata di Hamilton e Dintorni,

and the Dante Alighieri Society of Hamilton. Warm and generous, she very much enjoyed

getting together with family and friends. She was an avid reader, a gardener with a green thumb,

and cook extraordinaire. She raised her children with boundless love and cared very much for

their friends, too, whom she always welcomed with open arms.

      Ivetta had an undying love for her hometown, Lussinpiccolo, which she never forgot;

both she and Erich had a special place in their hearts, as well as in their home, for their beloved “Lussin”

and imparted that love to all of their children.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in April; for more information, please contact the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to the “Ivetta
