Obituary of George Pappas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Pappas on March 31, 2025. George was born on December 23, 1960, in Toronto and was predeceased by his parents Athanasios and Georgia Papastathis (Pappas). Together with his wife, Tess, he raised two amazing sons of whom he was immensely proud.
George was a larger-than-life personality, whose warmth and sprit touched the lives of those who knew him. Known for his generosity, he thrived when he could help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. He was an adoring father who was so proud to see his sons Adam and Andrew grow into the wonderful young men they are today. There was nothing he loved more than his boys, and he encouraged them to follow their passions and interests. With Adam, he shared a love of sports, playing endless rounds of golf and eagerly looking forward to watching ball games and hockey matches together. George and Andrew bonded over their shared love of music and guitars, and he was incredibly proud to watch Andrew perform on stage. He even learned to play guitar just so he could jam with his talented son.
George will be remembered for the respect and love he gave to his family and friends. He was a devoted brother to his sisters Patty and Olga. He was the fun-loving uncle who adored and was so proud of his nieces, Cristina and Sofia. His many aunts, uncles and cousins were always in his heart. He had many enduring friendships that were a source of fun, camaraderie, love and support that he treasured. These
friends were the brothers he never had. We are thankful that he has left so many with happy memories that will live on in our hearts.
Honouring George’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family on April 7, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to SickKids Foundation, a charity that was very personal and important to him.
