We are thinking of Marlene and will always cherish our memories of her. Melissa was Marlene's pal - here they are enjoying a pleasant afternoon, together on the grass, for a concert in Palm Springs. We came across this picture of the McKenzie family displaying a young, vibrant, and joyful Marlene.
Marlene will always be remembered by friends and family and people she touched in her daily life.
She'll be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her tenaciousness, her dedication, her love of life and the people in her life, her enthusiasm, her passions, her warm smile, her attention to detail, and her expressive storytelling.
When there was a cause Marlene was there to meet it head on.
Marlene loved the cats in her life, Dasher and Sushi.
Marlene enjoyed travelling, spending time with Melissa in Europe, family vacations to the States and northern Ontario, camping in Killarney, and many trips down to Niagara with Melissa where a shared breakfast at the Flying Saucer was always a given.
Marlene loved gardening. Her backyard was always a changing landscape of perennials, annuals, groundcover, and rabbits, toads, pagodas, gargoyles - objects that she had usually found and adopted. We took great pleasure in her lovingly detailed tours.
We will miss her greatly.
Sending our love to Jim and Rob.
