Obituary of Marilyn Joyce Hare

Hare, Marilyn Joyce (née MacPherson, born August 12, 1933)

After a long and full life, Marilyn Joyce Hare died peacefully on Saturday, September 6 at The Village of Humber Heights. She is predeceased by her sister Marion MacKinnon (2022), and her dear husband of 52 years, Patrick Mather Hare (2014). She is missed by their children Ginny and Craig (Heather), grandchildren Connor and Kayla (dad Chris Sanderson Kirby) and Mather and Finley (mom Louise Holt), and nieces Sheila, Wendy (Ken), and Susan (Scott), and many grand nephews and nieces Harrison, Spencer, Allison and Lauren.

Marilyn inspired her children to travel the world, become educated, and to be financially fluent. She had the gift of conversation, feeling at home surrounded by family and friends on the tennis court, in the ski lodge, in the cockpit of a sailboat at RCYC, or with her investment club ladies. Some of her favorite times were spent cottaging at Lake of Bays, Ontario and wintering in Naples, Florida. Her career was vast and included many years at the Halton Children’s Aid Society and as a realtor.

Special thanks to the dedicated professionals who cared for her over the past few years and in her final days. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 5 - 8 p.m., we will be sharing special memories at 6 p.m. in the main floor function room at Kingsway Crescent Condos, 160 Kingsway Cres, Etobicoke.
