I met Andrew at Beer and Banter, and he was the life of the group. He chatted with everyone and was always willing to talk at length. Many fond memories were made at that group, and as someone who rarely approaches new people, I immediately felt welcome because of him, as did many others.
I appreciated how thoroughly we discussed all kinds of topics. Andrew was an elite athlete at one point in his life, and he brought many of those qualities into his conversations—especially his focus, energy, and active listening.
My condolences to all who are affected by his passing.

Andrew will be missed by our family. We got to know him through our Life Group which he was able to attend a few times and I got to spend some time with him at the Trinity Men’s Retreats. He liked to be a part of the conversations up there late into the night and was always ready with a witty joke. Praying for the family and those who were closest to him for comfort and peace in this difficult time. We value the memories we had with him and long for the new creation to be revealed in Jesus where death has no hold anymore.
Eccl 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end

I got to know Andrew through Church at Trinity. He seemed to be a bit of a quiet guy and kept himself that was probably cause he didn’t know a lot of us at first. I first knew him more as Amanda‘s husband. But then she registered him for the men’s retreat that first year and he came! That’s when I really got to know Andrew. Andrew was an honest, decent guy. He was a good guy. Sure, he had his demons as many of us do. But as I got to know him, I realized he was a guy who cared for and loved his wife, adored his children and wasn’t afraid of a hard day’s work. After the first men retreat we would greet each other in church. He’d catch my eye and I go over and shake his hand. There was just something different in his eyes from before the retreat when he was new to after once he’d gotten to know a bunch of us. When he looked at me, I knew I was looking at a friend. The men’s retreats he attended were the best opportunities I had to sit down with Andrew and have some deeper, more meaningful conversations. I was honored that he shared with me his struggles and his heart. I will miss Andrew all through the year, but it’ll be particularly difficult at our next men’s retreat.

I will be forever grateful for Andrew's kindness. Last year, before I made it home after a 5-month hospital stay, Andrew and his assistant Abigail fashioned and installed an emergency wheelchair ramp at our house for me. This unexpected kindness reduced my fear and worry about coming home. Thank-you to an amazing man!
