Obituary of Carmen Schreier

Passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 at the age of 86.  She was just a couple of weeks shy of her 87th birthday.  Carmen was born in Galicia, Spain and immigrated to Canada in 1961 when she was 24.  She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Adolf Schreier; her sister, Mercedes (Virgilio); her children Karin (Patrick) and Diana (Kevin); nephews Pedro (Meri) and Jose (Cinta); grandchildren Spencer, Zachary, Isaac and Sebastian. She was predeceased by her parents Pedro and Manuela Igelsias.

Family and friends have many fond memories of sitting around the dinner table enjoying wonderful meals made with the bounty from her amazing garden.

Her family and friends will forever miss her.  

We thank the caring professional staff at Chartwell Grenadier for helping to keep her comfortable in her final days. 

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
