Obituary of Adolf Schreier

Less than a week after his beloved wife Carmen, Adolf passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024 at the age of 86.  Adolf was born in Frankfurt, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1960 when he was 23.  He is survived by his sisters, Rosel (California) and Marianna(Canary Islands); his children Karin (Patrick) and Diana (Kevin); grandchildren Spencer, Zachary, Isaac and Sebastian. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews scattered across North America and Europe. He was predeceased by his parents Friedrich and Carolina Schreier, brothers Paul and Fritz, sisters Elfrieda, Marisha and Erika.

Adolf was a steel fitter who loved to build things from scratch. He enjoyed spending time over the years at the family cottage on the Trent Severn river where he built his own boathouse and boat launch.  He was also an avid golf player who continued to play golf twice a week right up to October 2023.  In between all these endeavours, he and Carmen enjoyed travelling both back to their homes of origin as well as throughout North America, Europe and the Caribbean. 

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

We thank the caring professional staff at Humber River Hospital for helping to keep him comfortable in his final days. 

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Kidney Foundation Of Canada
