Dear Margaret, A truly bright light in this world has left with you, my dear, Our lives entwined in such interesting and unexpected ways. I have a fan letter you wrote to the CBC about an appearance I made at age 13 on an early afternoon talk show to read some of my poetry. And you became dear frinds with a tenant, and then dear friend of my own. You knew my Dad and I became friends with you later in my life through my work on consolidating the Theatre Museum of Canada. Such loving and warm and strong threads, woven together, as life will. Fare thee well, my dear colleague and friend. Deepest condolences to your family.

We knew Margret as a fellow member of the Arts & Letters Club. She was a good and true friend to us and we will miss her. She has left behind a legacy both as a historian and a person gave freely of herself to those in need. We will truly miss her.

Dear Jay and Megan,
I wish to offer my deepest condolences to you and your extended families on the passing of your remarkable mother, Margaret. When I heard, by telephone, that John had passed, on that now long ago November 1st day, it was my father, Leo, who was there beside me to hold me through my tears. When my father passed away from AIDS-related complications in 1988, as the second resident of Casey House, it was your mum who was there for me. I will never forget her, and the kind presence she was in my life for decades.
all my love, in remembrance,
Martin Julien

To Margaret's Family.
On behalf of all of us at Casey House, I want to express our sadness in hearing of the death of Margaret. We will be forever in her debt for the courage, compassion and dedication she demonstrated to help open Casey House at a time when stigma and discrimination against people dying of AIDS was at its peak. We will never forget her contribution and we were blessed that Margaret was still involved with Casey House as we created a new space and became the first HIV hospital in Canada. We are eternally grateful.
Know that all of the wonderful things about Margaret live on in each of you.
With deepest sympathy,
Casey House
