Top Tips on Staying Safe in Public During the Pandemic

The pandemic has taken over the world and has had a big impact on our day-to-day activities. This virus moves quickly and is very easy to transmit, which is one of the reasons why the pandemic has been nearly uncontrollable. At The Cremation Care Centre, we encourage people to observe all the precautions recommended by local authorities to remain safe. Here’s a look at some tips on how to avoid infection while out in public:

1. Sanitize Your Hands

Carry a bottle of hand sanitizer and clean your hands every time you get out of a store or public building. Most people are cautious about taking precautions but it only takes one careless individual to cause a big outbreak. While cleaning your hands regularly is an additional step, it can help you remain safe.

2. Wear a Mask

Masks offer two-way protection, which is why they are essential. They ensure you don't transmit the virus after sneezing or coughing. The mask protects your nose and mouth, which are entry points for the virus. It will also protect you from the virus in aerosol droplets so it is unwise to leave home without it. You don't need an N95 or surgical mask, just use a scarf or a home-made cloth mask for this purpose.

3. Maintain Distance

Maintain a distance of at least six feet around you and avoid touching anyone. If there’s a packed store or line, try to find an alternative or wait until the crowd is thinner. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to COVID-19. Many stores enforce a distancing protocol clearly to keep customers safe.
