How Do You Say Good-Bye?

It is never easy to bid goodbye to someone you love. Saying goodbye is tough, even if you have had enough time and knew that someone was ill or suffering.  Furthermore, since everyone is different, each person's experience would be specific. If you have to say goodbye to a loved one, you might be curious what the proper way to do so is.

Ways To Bid Farewell

The truth is that there is no such thing as a right or wrong path. We at Cremation Care Centre feel that what you do must be meaningful to you and the decedent, and that this is the most crucial aspect. Some things to do include:

  • One of the very first things to do is pen a goodbye note. People often want to share their emotions and feelings and the funeral service is one of the times to do it. Writing this kind of a letter will help you manage with your loss as you go through the five stages of grief.

  • Volunteering at a charity organization in memory of those you've lost is another way to say farewell.

  • You can also make an album or scrapbook of photos, notes, stories, or any other writing and material you want. This book will serve as a reminder of the great time you spent with someone dear to you.

  • Another good way to bid adieu is through poetry and songs and many people enjoy this.

  • Planting trees in your loved one’s memory is another way to reflect on that person’s life that can help you overcome depression, sorrow and greif. Gardening can also be quite relaxing experience, primarily if you shared this activity with the person that passed.
