Liese was the light of my life on many not-too-bright days at Hansard -- the easy, radiant smile; the even easier laugh; that incredible honk when she needed to rearrange her nasal capacities. I thought her beauty was all but ethereal but at the same time so earthy, so real, so unflinching. We stayed in touch after Hansard and occasionally met to see art or have a drink or some lunch, and her funny, warm emails are over-represented in my Keepers file.
When you lose a keeper, the loss is enormous. Alf, Lisa, Kurt -- take care of yourselves and each other. And Marcus, of course, and the girls. We'll all think of her often and wish she were here for one more little insight, or perhaps for a nudge to be best. Or at least a bit better.
