I saw you and knew you would be a part of my life and as per your style, like the perfect summer sun shower, you entered my life and then you were gone. I will never forget our first meeting at the Hope Beach Volleyball Festival. Dropping you off at your car, dating and then becoming friends. As our life journeys meandered we crossed paths here and there. The last time I saw you was in Toronto. It was Grey Cup weekend. I was there for the game and you had moved to the big city! I wanted to steal you away and chat for hours but you were on a date and it would have been bad form to get in the way. Your dry sense of humor, your passion for life, your search for something greater in this world remains in my heart.
I will miss you always and also be forever grateful for your presence in my life.
Rest KP.
Love KE!

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Karen's passing. My deepest condolences to her family. I met Karen at AFCENT School in the Netherlands (1991-1994). I have so many happy memories of our time together - daily lunches in the staff room and nightly phone calls to catch up, shopping, ski trips, and travel from Tenerife to Scandinavia. She had a smile that would light up a room, an amazingly wicked sense of humour and was a fiercely loyal friend. Rest in peace KBear.

Michel: Great words from you that tell me about the good person in her although I have not met her and also tell me about your big heart and you compassion. I feel your pain buddy and I wish that I can tell you how do we overcome such events and sorrows but I am yet to learn. Bless her soul and may her memories rest with the people who loved her forever.

Karen, we met over 22 years ago when you hired me at Accenture. Over the years you were my career counselor, mentor, and most of all a trusted friend. It’s been three weeks since I heard the devastating news and it has taken me this long to reflect and compose my thoughts.
You had a positive impact on so many from family and friends to colleagues and acquaintances. Your integrity, sage advice, compassion, generosity, and thoughtfulness left its mark on many. And, let’s not forget your unerring sense of style and your impressive collection of shoes. A true beauty inside and out.
I was fortunate to count you as my friend. My heart hurts. I’ll miss our calls and texts to check in, say hi or share a funny story. A vibrant life gone too soon. You’ll always be in my thoughts.
My heartfelt condolences to your family.
Xo Terrie

I had the great honor of working with Karen for over 20 years. She was one of the first people I met when I joined the company I have very fond memories of international meetings where Karen was truly an inspiration. I always admired her professionalism and dedication to Accenture, she was a tremendous colleague and brought a great sense of humor to every task. I was always in awe of her fashion sense!, She cared so much about her team and the people she worked with, an inspiration. I will miss her guidance and passion.

We had the opportunity to work with Karen on the Toronto Accenture New Office over the last few years. As a client, we were appreciative to work with someone who was professional, knowledgeable, full of passion, fun and had a great sense of style! She was a natural leader and brought out the best in everyone. We are so saddened by her passing and will miss her. Karen, thanks for your great sense of humour, design and fashion chats! Condolences to family and friends. From your Gensler family.

I am not even sure how to say Goodbye to you my dear friend Karen when I still cannot believe that you are gone. You were such a beautiful person both inside and out. You were kind, caring, generous, funny, witty and brilliant, so incredibly brilliant. You were a role model for so many of us and set such an example of what a strong Woman Leader in Business should be. Your positivity is one of the qualities I admired most about you. You could find the good in anything and anyone. You always believed in me and I will never forget that. I will always cherish our memories and hope you know how much you meant to me. You will be missed, more than you could ever possibly know. Until we meet again my friend, you will be in my thoughts and prayers always.

I met Karen 25 years ago at Accenture and we've become friends over the years. In our busy lives and daily challenges, Karen always had time to lend an ear, help a co-worker and create a better environment for all. She lit up rooms and brought a sense of humour that put people at ease. Her generosity, compassion and love of adventure are admirable qualities to live up to. Condolences to her family for your loss. Thoughts and prayers.

To Karen's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I first worked with Karen when she was the lead for Ottawa and we were part of the Central Region team, and then again when Canada and US re-merged about 7 years ago. She was a good listener and a sharp businesswoman, and people were drawn to her for her warmth and intelligence. Karen was a special person and she will be missed. You're all in my prayers of peace and comfort.

I remember Karen fondly from my early days at Andersen then Accenture. She was a wonderful support to me helping me learn the ropes, all the processes and who was who in the zoo. Karen was such a lovely woman with a great sense of humour and a can do attitude. She has left us far too soon.
My condolences to her family. I am so sorry for your loss. Nicolette

My dear Karen your death took me by shock. You've been an amazing mentor at work and friend. I'll miss your laughter, your style, and strong work ethic. They always take the good ones way too early. If you run into my mom please toast a drink with her. You both knew how to have fun. Until out paths cross again!

Karen and I were close and fast friends from when we first met at Accenture over 25 years ago. We laughed, cried, shared our innermost fears, thoughts and celebrated life’s joys with each other. I am heartbroken that she is no longer with us - the world has lost a bright light and is a sadder place without her. My deepest sympathy goes to Karen’s dad, sisters and their families on their sudden loss. I’ll catch up with you in my dreams Chicklet - from your friend Kimmer.
