Obituary of Gabriel Azmitia Mejia

Our Dad, Gabriel Azmitia, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2020 at the young age of 78. He was the loving father to Cecilia – la niña de sus ojos, Herbert – His Boy, and Delmy- his eldest, with first wife and longtime friend Elsie Robles. Proud Yayo to Sheilla, Gabriella, Oscar Jr, Mia, and Alexander.

Gabriel made Toronto his home and just loved the city that welcome him more than 40 years ago. It was here where he built his business, made memorable friends and loved last.

He was son of the late Carlos Sabas Azmitia and Maria Mercedes Mejia of Beautiful El Salvador.

Cremation has taken place and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Princess Margaret hospital for Sarcoma research.

Our Dad played his last game of chess – his passion – and won to longtime friend Ricardo Turcios.

A natural-born storyteller, Gabriel made us laugh, made us wonder, made us dream and made us proud.

For all the times we forgot to say it…
