Thinking back of Christmases long long ago. Your absence this year is anything but unnoticeable. I miss you every day. I miss your laugh. I miss that I can’t pick up
The phone and hear your voice. I hope Nana found you and that wherever you are you’re both safe and happy
I love you dad. Merry Christmas and happy new year

We thank Joe and Barbara for the wonderful time we spent together in 2008, 2017 and 2019. Although Joe just knew the german words "komm her" he gave great moments to Thorsten and Fabian. I rememder the walks to lake Ontario and the day, he showed me the area where he grew up.
We will keep Joe in good memory

I first met Joe at the Schneider’s cottage in the late 1990’s. He had a few passions at the cottage such as golfing and fishing. He would spent hours enjoying these passions and relaxing in the woods. Another passion of his was watching sports on television. Although much too short, his was a life well lived. He was a determined, kind, quiet, witty, goal oriented who loved life and all that it offered. It was a privilege for me to have met Joe. Rest in peace.

In Erinnerung an Joe!

I met Joe through Barbara and quickly bonded over our love of golf. We spent the 1999 technicians strike together in the RSMC when he was able to get in the building. We had a blast during those weeks. I'll always remember the Tuesday evenings we spent together golfing at Scarlett Woods with our friends Ken Pavri and Bruce Lowther, then ending the evening with a veal sandwich at California on the Queensway or wings at Sloppy Joe's. I will miss your quick wit and mischievous smile. Rest in peace my friend.

The rowing community will be forever grateful for Joe's steady hands in the centre of it all behind the computers and cabling as one of our original tech guru's for the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships year after year - and also his insight at our planning dinners at Luba Frastacky's house in the lead up to the annual event.
In September 2019 we became aware of Joe's artistic talent and penchant for colour mixing in Bala, Ontario for which he aptly claimed the name "Vince Van Joe."
We will miss you. No doubt your friendship will endure the test of time.

Eileen and I first met Barbara and Joe right before we started our stint of running timing at CRASH-Bs and we were quickly fast friends. I will always remember our weekends in Boston getting together for a busy couple of days. We had many laughs with Joe including this occasion at John Harvard's in Cambridge. He'll be sorely missed and our deepest sympathies go out to Barbara, Joe's kids and grandkids and everyone else Joe's life touched and had a similar impact.

You were so many things to so many people. To me you were dad. My protector. My best friend. One of my biggest advocates. I have so many amazing memories of you. Too many to list. I will love you always and miss you even longer.

Joe we will miss you. We will miss your bright smile, your kind heart and your clever wit. You were a wonderful uncle and Godfather to our son Tim. It didn't matter what you were doing, if we needed you for anything, you dropped everything and came over. You were so generous with your time. Whether it was a visit to our house, a birthday, graduation or just coming over to watch Tim play baseball, I know it meant a lot to Tim and to us. Pat will miss his big brother. Rest in peace Joe.❤
