Obituary of Jacek Maria Jaxa-Dębicki
Jacek Maria Jaxa-Dębicki passed away peacefully on November 28, 2021 at the Copernicus Lodge in Toronto, Canada at the age of 73 after a brave struggle with his health and having received the Anointment of the Sick. He will be forever missed by his sister Joanna (Andrew), brother Joseph (Colleen), nieces Alexandra & Kim and nephews Jan (his Godson), Tomas, Marek & Justin.
Born the eldest son of the late Andrzej Jaxa-Dębicki & Zofia (née Chłapowska) in Milanówek, Poland on 1 May 1948. He immigrated to Canada in 1958. He was a loving, kind and humorous person to many, a Polish Boy Scout (Bałtyk), professionally a psychotechnician, a wine salesman, a stained glass artist, an avid chess player and hockey fan, a dog and horse lover, and both a Polish and Canadian patriot.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Copernicus Lodge and the St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their loving care.
According to Jacek’s wishes he will be laid to rest at the family grave at the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw, Poland. Funeral mass will take place at St. Casimir’s Church, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, in Toronto on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, thank you for remembering the Copernicus Lodge.
