Obituary of Wanda Psenicka

The family of Wanda Psenicka (Lichodziejewska) is sad to announce her passing
on October 23, 2022, peacefully, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her
beloved husband, Vaclav (Bill) Psenicka (2014), her mother Jadwiga
Lichodziejewska (Zolkowska, 1985), her father Jan Lichodziejewski (1942), Aunt
Josefa Plecinska (Zolkowska, 1975), Uncle Albin Zolkowski, and her first-born son,
Richard (stillborn, 1956). Wanda was devoted Mama to Henry (Leila Brown), Eva
and Robert. She was loving Babcia to Sara (Jeffrey Baker), Matthew (Julia Pullin),
Lucas, Rainey (Nate Bolger), Delaney Swanson and Geneva Swanson (Jay
Patterson). Wanda was dear cousin of Anna Kurilenko (Tomaszewska, 2017) and
Lucy Wojnarowski (Zolkowska), half sister of Danuta and Liliana (Lichodziejewska),
and cherished mother-in-law of Paula Psenicka. She had many dear friends far
and wide, and beloved extended family in Europe.
 
Wanda will be remembered for her caring nature, hospitality, contagious laugh
and warm hugs. Her many talents included sewing, embroidery, crocheting,
knitting and languages. She loved to sing in the Polish choir and to travel. Wanda
was especially skilled at cooking and baking Polish delicacies. Some of these
talents have been passed on to her descendants!
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Copernicus Lodge for their loving care and
kindness during Wanda’s time with them.
 
Funeral mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church (98 Alice St, Guelph, ON) at
10:30 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, followed by a burial ceremony at
Marymount Cemetery (5400 Highway 6, Guelph, ON) and a Celebration of Life at
Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club (5700 Wellington Rd 86, Ariss, ON). As
expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Copernicus Lodge would
be appreciated by the family.
