Obituary of Karen Stemmler
On Wednesday November 16, 2022, Karen Stemmler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, left this world much too soon at just 50 years old.
Karen was born in the Philippines and shortly after immigrating to Canada, had her daughter Kara. A little while after starting her corporate career, she met David, the love of her life and together they raised Kara. In the last 2 years she also became a grandmother to Charlie and Chase. Her bond with them was incomparable and she relished in her new title as "fun Yaya".
Karen had the innate ability to connect with all people. Her friendships reached far and wide and friends often described her as chosen family. Always ready to lend a helping hand in whatever way she could, Karen's generosity was felt deeply by anyone that knew her.
Her love of people led her and David to become Airbnb hosts for their 2 cottages in Prince Edward County "CCs", named fondly after her grandchildren Charlie and Chase.
We will never forget her infectious laugh, and we know that she is watching over all of us with an ice cream in one hand and donut in the other.
Celebration of Life for family and friends to take place on Saturday November 26 at 3pm at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club 44 Price Street, Toronto. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada in Karen's name.
