Obituary of Donald John McLauchlin

Don was born in Toronto to parents Westaway and Daphne (Pearce) McLauchlin. He was raised in Brantford where he attended Brantford Collegiate and furthered his education at Western University where he received his BA in Economics. 

Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Neale) McLauchlin, his adored children, Cam (Julia McCarvell), their children Sloane and Cole, AJ (Patricia Lourenco), their June baby to come, and Jenny (Dom Paré). He is also survived by sisters Barbara and Mary Louise McLauchlin, brother and sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved extended family.

Don worked for RoyNat Capital from May 1976 to June 2010. In that time he worked in London, ON, Edmonton, AB and Vancouver, BC before settling back in Toronto as Regional Vice President. In retirement Don sat on the Advisory Boards of Moskowitz Capital Corporation, Tepper Holdings Inc., and Consolidated Fastfrate. “Donnie” was a passionate man; he loved music and movies, including the family favourite Predator. His passion could turn competitive if matched over a game of golf, cribbage, backgammon or boggle. He will be remembered for his wit, charm, intelligence, and extensive (and often obscure) knowledge of trivia.
