Gerald Joseph Lapierre

August 2, 1933 - June 23, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness the family of Gerald (Jerry) Lapierre announce his peaceful passing on June 23, 2023 in his 90th year.

Beloved husband of Janet (nee McCallum) for almost 70 years (August 5). Loving father of Judy (2022) and Rick (Suda), Tom and Barb, Steven, and Cathy and Dave (Eveleigh). Cherished Papa to Tyler (Lorna), Caitlin (Matt), Jeff, Jeremy, Jordan (Kim), and Katrina. Great Papa to Brooklynn, Jalen, Katie-Anne and Charlie-Rose. Special mention, Scarlett. Lovingly remembered by his sister/brother-in-law’s Rhona, Carol, Brian (Marg), Alan (Glenna), Eileen and Margo (Ed), along with several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his daughter Judy, parents Joseph Lapierre and Geraldine (Art) Barton, brother Garnet, step brother Ernie, in-laws James and Eleanor McCallum, sister/brother-in-law’s Joan (Ron), Marilyn (Frank), Bill and Arnold.

Jerry was a very kind, quiet, patient and hard working man who loved his family deeply. 

Over the years, Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, swimming, coaching hockey, watching sports, playing cards, travelling, feeding backyard birds and attending to his vegetable garden and fruit trees. 

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers, especially Juliette who went above and beyond, Dr. Lim and all the staff at Extendicare Halton Hills who cared for Jerry with kindness, compassion and dignity over the past two years.

To honour Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held.
