Obituary of Gerry Tsuji

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gerry Kazuo Tsuji of Toronto on August 6, 2023.  He was 72.

Gerry was a kind and gentle soul who was very true to his passions. His many passions included playing guitar, fine woodworking  (especially Japanese influenced furniture), his pets and collecting.  He was also very passionate about his family and friends and was the greatest uncle to his nieces and nephew whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. 

Gerry is predeceased by his father Shinichi (Fred) Tsuji, mother Kimi Tsuji and Father-in-Law Harold Abbott.

Gerry is survived by his wife Suzette Tsuji, his sister Naomi Tsuji Tamaki, his brothers- in-law Michael Tamaki, Jeff Abbott, John Abbott and Jim Abbott,  his sisters- in-law Michelle Abbott, Stephanie Abbott and Lela Abbott,  his nieces Yuki Tamaki, Mika Tamaki, Megan Abbott, his nephew Jimmy Abbott and his mother in law Marilyn Abbott.

Gerry has been cremated as per his wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto Buddhist Church or the Toronto Humane Society.

There will be a Celebration of Gerry’s Life on Aug. 16, 2023.

Friends and Family will be received from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m.

Funeral 1 p.m.

Following the funeral there will be a reception at the downstairs Social Hall.
