Obituary of Brenda Wilson
Brenda Wilson (née Devine), beloved wife of Ken, fiercely proud mother of Sandra (David) and Adam (Stephanie), adored and adoring Grannie of Kate, passed peacefully on Tuesday August 15, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. Brenda will be sadly missed by Marion and Brad, Jim and Wendy, Brian and Angie, her nieces and nephews, and their children.
Brenda was one of a kind: a bibliophile, an advocate for children's literacy and a creator of marvelous cakes. She did not suffer fools gladly but was kind, generous and loving. Brenda's many loves included trivia, music, and poetry. She held a lifelong fascination with angels and a commitment to heated debate.
Our unending thanks for their kindness and support through her journey to: the incomparable teams at PMH and TGH; nurses everywhere; Ngawang, PSW extraordinaire; and the Temmy Latner Palliative home care team.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. If you would like to honour Brenda's life by making a donation, please consider Princess Margaret Hospital, The Toronto Public Library’s “Feeding Young Minds initiative” or a literacy program or food bank in your local community.
For Brenda, please find some time to read a poem today. If you don't have a favourite, here are a few of hers:
The Highwayman
Jabberwocky
Shakespeare's Sonnet 29
