Obituary of Brian Harvey

Brian Harvey died peacefully at home in Toronto from a sudden illness, Tuesday August 22nd. He was 68. Father, lover, writer, brother. Funny, stubborn, charming and at times infuriating. Fond of the poetry of the mechanical, penguin classics, and music of all sorts. A collector of stories from everyone and everywhere. Brian delighted in fine craftsmanship, yet always championed the cause of the underdog. He revelled in the thrill of sport. Sorely missed by his beloved partner Carrie, his loyal sidekick Toby, his sister Lynn, and Julie, his former partner and mother of his son, Ben who misses him as well. Also missed by many at his workplace–The Toronto Star–and those around his favourite neighbourhood of St.Clair West. A special mention for a great friend Michael Wilson of Hamilton.

Many thanks to the dedicated staff at Toronto General Hospital, and Home Care Support Services, and The Temmy Latner Center for Palliative Care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration Of Life will occur on Sunday September 17th, 11 am onwards. RSVP for details cmcarats@gmail.com
