As a client, I'm sure my introduction to John is not an atypical story: a new homeowner, I woke up in the middle of winter to a cold house. Panicked, I found John's information and called him desperate for some sort of solution. What happened next is what made John so special. Rather than trying to sell me some sort of expensive fix, he first calmly walked me through some possible issues on the phone. And when he came over after to investigate, he chuckled as he found my problem: the thermostat had simply come loose from the wall! Recognizing that he had a complete newbie on his hands, rather than pad his pocketbook, he chose to make it a teachable moment, showing me how to use my furnace - all without charging me a cent. Needless to say, since that day, John has been the only person I'd ever call. He is that most precious of God's gifts: a genuine, caring, honest man who took great pride in his work and helping others. And he will always be remembered as such. I pray that God gives his family and loved ones strength and solace to know that his spirit, his generosity, his empathy will continue to light our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace!
