Obituary of Judith Ann Stait

Judith Ann Stait (née Tilbury) passed away peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2024. Judy was for many years a dedicated nurse at the Hamilton General Hospital. She left that profession to raise her family in Singapore and Australia and travel the world for thirty years but never lost her compassion, empathy, and desire to help. She returned home to Canada recently to be close to her much-missed friends and family. She made friends easily and everywhere with her open, kind nature and knack for conversation and connecting with people. She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Sarah Jane and leaves behind her husband Vern, her daughter Kathleen, her son Christopher, his wife Norie, her beloved grandchildren Saki and Laird, and her three cherished siblings Sharon, Bryan, and Ron. A like-clockwork reliable greeting card sender, she also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews and friends from her far-flung life, whose birthdays, anniversaries and moments of celebration were always remembered. Remember this good daughter, good sister, good friend, good nurse, good wife, good aunt, good mother, good grandmother, and good, good person with her own recent words: "I have lived a good life. I am happy." The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Princess Margaret and Mt. Sinai Hospitals, who provided such wonderful care over the past year. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
