Obituary of Danuta Tabaka

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Danuta Tabaka. She was 97 years young. Danuta was pre-deceased by her husband Wladyslaw (2004) and sister Halina Krystyna Krzyski. Survived by daughter Monika and her husband Chrys, with grandchildren Krystina (spouse Kevin) and Michael (spouse Jasmina);  great grandchildren Killian and Kali.

Born in Lodz, Poland, went to school in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in the early 1950's.  She was an avid skier, swimmer and loved to walk. Another favourite activity was playing bridge and solitaire. She volunteered her time with many Polish and English organizations both in Montreal and Ottawa. Spent many years hosting parties and enjoying summer vacations in Cape Cod, Mass., and  Barry's Bay, Ontario. She loved to travel with her husband and exploring new places. Danuta loved to laugh and was known for her dry sense of humour and quick wit. We will miss her terribly.

A private internment will be held for family in Ottawa at Beechwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association in her name would be greatly appreciated by her family. Friends and family may leave condolences on this memorial page.
