Obituary of Lily McLaughlin

HENRIETTA ELIZABETH “LILY” MCLAUGHLIN (nee EDWARDS) January 20, 1936 - November 4, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough. Beloved wife of James “Jimmy” McLaughlin (deceased). Lily was born in Ballinamallard, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Lily enjoyed travelling before she moved to Toronto, Ontario with her close friend Miriam. Lily worked at O.H.I.P. for 10 years and in her free time she enjoyed badminton at a local Community Center where she met Jimmy and they married and settled in East York, Ontario.  Lily loved and cared for many dogs (especially Muffin) and cats (especially Snow) and Lily loved to feed the wildlife. Lily was creative throughout her life and was an excellent seamstress and knitter and enjoyed gardening.

Lily is survived by her brother Brian, niece Janice and her son Dan, nephews Colin and Alan, brother-in-law Sonny, and step-son Euan among others. Lily was very thankful to her friends Pat, Kathy and Mae for their support after Jimmy’s passing and during these last years of her life. Thank you to McCowan Retirement Residence in Scarborough for extending her life. In memory of Lily, donations to the Michael Garron Hospital in East York would be appreciated.
