Obituary of Raymond Richard Williams
February 26, 1969 – January 1, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend, on January 1 st at the age of 55.
Ray was born on February 26, 1969, in Toronto to Raymond and Dorothy Williams. The youngest of 4 children, Ray will be dearly missed by his sisters, Paula (Mark), Allison (Saeid), and Angela (Denson) and his many nieces and nephews, who loved him very much.
What brought Raymond most joy were his sons, Mackenzie and Jackson. The affection and unwavering pride he had for them was made known to those closest to him. Ray had admiration for their successes and often spoke of their achievements. Although Raymond and Angela parted ways, they always shared a bond of eternal love for one another. They continued to be united in their shared love for their children. Raymond took pride in pursuing a career in working with adults with exceptionalities. He spent decades supporting Joey Umbrico and was considered by Joey’s parents to be an extended member of their family.
Known for his boisterous and contagious laugh that could fill a room, Ray had the remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone around him. He had a special way of making everyone he spoke to feel important and loved. On any given Saturday you could find Ray perusing the isles of Costco with his best friend Jefferson or his sister Angela. His favourite pastimes were combing through vinyl at the local record shop to add to his eclectic collection and searching for unique vintage items at Value Village. In his younger days, Ray was an athlete who loved sports, in particular, skiing, biking, swimming and roller skating. In his later years, he enjoyed the pleasures of travelling to many countries around the world with his amazing friends and sons. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and camping. Ray was also an amazing chef and took pride in cooking for those he loved.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his children and all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Old Flame Brewery (Distillery District Location).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Meta Center Donation to donate in Raymond’s name.
