Peter gave me so much. He was my moral compass throughout my life. When I was 13 he was desperately missed when he went off to architecture school in Manitoba. When he returned he found me reading a harlequin romance. Outraged, he suggested I read Lady Chatterl's Lover. Then he stole a Harlequin from Woolworths, gave it to me, then ripped it in two when I was half way through it. I never read another. Such commitment, daring, love and fierceness impressed me and required more of me. His lucky children enjoyed adventure after adventure with Peter. So much time ambling about in the woods and water. He spent a lot of time with them, talking, playing, challenging them, letting them be themselves and protecting them from the hot mess we all live in. Peter designed and oversaw the building of my house in Mulmur. I live in his dream and it is wonderful.. Peter's wit and charm and devilish humour reduced me to helpless breathless laughter. I miss you so much already...the adventure, loyalty, bravery, fun and intelligence that you were and are.

My sincere condolences to all his family and friends. My fondest memories of Peter would be from our family canoeing trips together on the French and Gibson Rivers and along Georgian Bay, sitting around the camp fire at night after the kids had crawled in to the tents, enjoying a sip of scotch watching the starry skies.

Peter with all of his kids & grandkids in 2015.....we can’t begin to thank you for all the things you taught us....riding a bike, driving a car, having a proper apple fight, cross-country skiing, playing chess, exploring, being brave, playing baseball, and taking the road less travelled....you are in our hearts forever.

There was so much love and laughter between us. I miss how he looked at me to see if I was laughing before he burst out laughing too. He could tip a conversation over with a shake of his hands in mock terror, a ridiculously over pronounced syllable, or an uncanny impersonation. And Peter was right about our amazing daughters - they are a beautiful way to remember him by. Love you long time.
