I had fond memories on spending Sundays in the arena watching hockey. Attending several team parties. Summer in Southhampton. Also travelling around the world with our passports at Caravan.

So sorry to hear of Ivar's passing... our thoughts are with the family. Ivars was my Dad's best friend - Wally Peteraitis and a life long friend to our family. He and Wally enjoyed lots of sports together - table tennis, fishing, bowling, golf. I have many fond memories growing up of our family spending time with Ivars and his family... banquets, Oktoberfests, New Year's Eve parties, at the cottage and over for dinners or BBQ's - these are cherished memories! I hope that my Dad Wally and him are having a good chat now about how they are going to play this new course .... and I hope that my husband Paul Sakalauskas is right in there with them! Ivars - thank you for being a great friend to my Dad and a special person to all of our family - RIP. It is with great sadness we are made aware of the passing of Ivars. I have very fond memories of Ivars and Karin spending many of time with my parents Marlene and Walter. That foursome partied at many memorable Octoberfests. Wally & Ivars shared many years of bowling and golf and spend many years involved in the Golden Eagles Golf Club. Wally treasured his friendship with Ivars. I will take comfort in believing Marlene and Walter greeted Ivars with open arms and Ivars and Wally are on the links with cold beer in hand. Our deepest condolences for your broken hearts, Norman, Georgina & Trey Walsh, xo

Karen and family I.can hear Ivars voice saying "Yeah Baby". Ivars was Mr. Cherry Downs to me an others. When I joined I didn't know a soul there. If it was not for the likes of Ivars I don't know if would have every fit in as well. I left Cherry for Wyndance when it opened, but would catch Ivars at Cherry from time to time. What a great club Cherry Downs was and that was an incredible tribute to Ivars. The best club and bunch of guys I have ever been a part of. The last time I think saw Ivars was driving the 407, I saw his SMHL license plate and made sure I could catch up, honk and wave. We will all miss you Ivars for all you have done for everyone. You made every that you touched better.

Joe’s greatest accomplishments (of his many) in life were he was a great husband, great father, great Pops and great friend too so many. He offered so much of himself to others continually throughout his life. I will miss him singing happy birthday on my 67th birthday. You were a good, good man. RIP my friend. Randy
