I first met Jinny in Montreal in 1958. She and Elaine were looking for someone to share their apartment with. Living with these 2 ladies was great. Jinny was the organizer: we took it in turn to make dinner, to do the dishes, to do the shopping. Jinny always seemed to know where there was a party going on! When Elaine left to get married, Stella moved in. By the time I left for California, I think I was speaking with a Jamaican accent. Yes, we did have some parties at our place and when our lease came up for renewal, we were "asked" not to renew it. Even after I left for California in 1961, we stayed in touch. Jinny & Bill came to see us then Jinny came on her own and I always remember her taking 2 humongous bottles of tequila back with her. When David (her wonderful son) organized a party for her 70th, he asked Stella, Elaine and I to come as a surprise - and she certainly was. Elaine, Jinny and I met in Florida for a Caribbean cruise and as this was her first cruise, she really enjoyed filling in the questionnaire at the end of the trip. ("the drinks are overpriced, the side trips are not organized properly and overpriced," etc. etc.) One of the best trips was to Niagara-on-the-Lake. We visited several wineries, enjoyed a couple of plays, a Garden Tour, Niagara Falls - and of course she brought her Scrabble game and we had to play just about every night at least 3 games! We had been talking of a trip in 2020 and had started emailing back and forth in 2019 and then Covid hit!! Jinny was a fun lady, a very positive person and a true friend. I will miss her tremendously.
