We met Mrs. Anne Lapczynski several times at the home of her daughter Ewa Marshall-Rudnicki, with whom we are friends. We remember her as always a smiling, charming woman, full of warmth and love for people and willing to share her life experience. We listened with bated breath to stories from different stages of her life, especially from the beginning of her family life in Toronto. The time spent with Mrs. Anna was unforgettable. She joined us in singing songs, and she knew many of them, shared our challenges, and listened to them with great attention. She was an emotional person in a very positive sense. For several years, we followed Mrs. Anna's health from a distance. Sometimes, we sang carols and songs for her through the camera from her daughter Ewa's home in Nova Scotia. Mrs. Anna never lost contact with her homeland. She was well acquainted with current events in Poland. She watched the news on Polish television and read Polish weeklies regularly, which, after reading and solving crossword puzzles, she forwarded to us in Nova Scotia for further reading. Thanks to her, for many years we had access to every issue of Newsweek Polska. Unfortunately, the inevitable moment has come that we must say goodbye to Mrs. Anne. She will always remain beautifully recorded in our memory.
