I am so saddened to read the passing of Sandra. She and I grew up directly next door to each other on Frederica St in Fort William. Walked to school together at Francis St School, Kingsway Junior High and finally Selkirk High School. They were such innocent years. In my teens my family moved to Winnipeg and we lost touch. I was so thrilled when we re-connected on Facebook some yrs ago and had many heart-warming chats and exchanged photos from many yrs ago. I am so sorry for your loss. Claudia Beischer

Thank you for your condolence Claudia. Mom had a lot of great childhood stories. It is nice to hear from one of those people. I can try and reach you on Facebook. I am Cynthia Rooney, in London, Ontario. Mom's funeral was small and lovely. She had plenty of time to prepare, so she made sure there was something for all of us to read. We miss her dearly!

We are heartbroken to hear of Sandra's passing. Sandra was a tremendous colleague, an exceptional clerk, and a great person. It was always a joy to see Sandra again after she would come back from her winters in Florida. Even though she would spend her winters away, she had an encyclopedic memory of her files - it was truly incredible. She was a gem. All of us at ZTGH are sending her family our sincerest condolences. Thank you for your lovely condolence. I recall her even working while away in Florida. We would take off to the pool, while she would take care of things. She loved her job and co-workers, and kept on the bosses to do what needed to be done. She loved the challenge, and you're right, she knew her stuff and had a great memory. She kept working until she was 72, and likely would've continued if she wasn't diagnosed in 2019. :(

Mrs Rooney was a kind lady with a big heart . Whenever I met her in person , she always asked how life was treating me and was always interested in the work I did . She was very personable person. She will be missed .

We will all miss Sandra. She had so much life left to live, stolen from her and all who knew and loved her far too soon. Cindy, Stephen and Darryl- you had one incredible mom. Awww, Emily. You are the best! Enjoy that pizza lunch with the folks at Chartwell. ;) Mom truly appreciated all the love and care Heritage Glen provided during her time there. Thanks for sharing the bug eye photo of Mom on her last best day we had together. Shopping Spree!! LOL

Condolences to the family . Sandra was a fighter to the very end. Never giving up her wish to see her birthday day come and go and what a great day pictures games to be had but most of all to see her contagious smile. She certainly had an impact on many lives but most of all her family. They were everything to her proud of each and everyone one of them . Hold on to memories and just know Sandra is our guardian angel constantly watching over us. Cherish in making her favourite dishes planting her favourite flowers enjoying life like she always did. Rest in peace Aunt Sandra thanks for being an important part of my life. I'll never forget you. You truly are a queen

Thank you, Michele. Her goal was to make her birthday and to have a great celebration on June 25th. Mission accomplished! It was a wonderful day! She was SO happy. Brook was the only one missing, but was able to see her on her actual birthday, the 27th. Thank you to all for making it such a special day for Mom. xo
