To Walt’s family, Patty and I are saddened to hear his passing. Thank you, Lynn, for giving my friend such a good life. I’m sure that he never would have told anyone, but at the end of 1956 when we were both 12, Wally asked me to take over his job at Howard Pharmacy. I thought it was because he was fed up with the job, but more to his character, perhaps it was because he realized I needed that job to help put food on the table more than he did. He was a best friend and one of my childhood heroes and he will always be.

I'm currently building a mural in clay for a client. I am striving to tell a story without words. I am pressing footprints of children and adults and dogs and starfish and rocks and crabs into the clay. All the time I am fondly remembering walking the early morning beach in Puerto Escondido with Walter and Lynn, headed for our morning coffee.

Dear Lynn, Sam Suzy and families. How lucky we were to have had so many wonderful times with Walt along with “the old gang”. We never took those times for granted, and really cherish those memories. (holding baby lambs at the farm is one of them). He was such a trooper, managing to visit, even through his discomfort. We are so glad you were all able to be with him to the end and say your good byes.

Dear Lynn, Sam and Ashley, Suzanne and Graham, and Walt's siblings and their families:
Ed and I would like to send our condolences to you all. I knew Lynn at high school and university and over the years. We shared an apartment together after graduating. I well remember when Lynn came home from a date with Walt to announce they were getting married. It was a joyous occasion. Over the years, I have seen the steadfast love and support that Walt has given to Lynn, their two children Sam and Suzanne, Lynn's mother, and now Sam's and Suzanne's partners. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Anne and Ed Orr.

Far Well in your new adventure Brother Butch
just remember our great adventures and family gathering up until now
like when we sold the globe and mail at the CNE, or our old air cadet squadron 201 Centre 0, gone fishing up at Rock Wood, collecting golf balls in Chedoke Creek, living in St. Catharines, then our old house in Merritton. Hamilton, Hearst, where Dad dragged you and CR back to Toronto in an old Model A and when you opened the door, the car floor was covered in Sunflower seeds. How about Living on Howard Street and working for Irving Soloway at his Drug store, who help all of us kids in our future endeavors, even when we lived on Vaughan Road

Thank you Uncle Butch for all the good memories of dinner at your place on Christmas where I would sit in your bedroom and watch Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. Thank you for always attending my dad’s barbecues and cheering me on in my musical endeavours. Sending lots of love to Auntie Lynn and Sam & Suzy. I’ll miss you lots Uncle Butch but your memories will always be with me in my heart ❤️
